Remembering Paul Newman

Like many, I was sad to hear that Paul Newman died last week.  Mr. Newman was of course an acclaimed  actor, but he was also a remarkable man.  He will be remembered for the food company he founded, that gives all its after tax profit to charities.  Newman's Own generated more than $200 million in total donations so far.

He was a motorsports enthusiast and talented driver.  Paul Newman drove race cars well into his late 70s, showing that my favorite sport can  keep you young for a long time...

Newman also played Reggie Dunlop, the player-coach of the Charlestown Chiefs in the movie Slap Shot.  This movie, which generated mix reviews when it came out in the 70s, is now seen as one of the best sports' movies and comedies.  Back in law school, it seemed that in order to get your diploma, you had to know the French Canadian translation of Slap Shot by heart.
