O Canada!

At lunch today I was talking to a dear friend who always seem to carry a full load of wisdom. We were remembering how 15 years ago, the OECD was calling Canada the next in line to become a developing country. In just a decade and a half, this country that was portrayed as being poorly managed, populated by risk averse business and politician leaders, is the only developed country that is not really hit by the actual financial crisis and the only large economy that has not been recording a deficit in 10 years.

Of course, this is not the job of one man. But I feel compelled to say that Mr. Paul Martin, probably one of the greatest politician my country has had and certainly the most underrated business person to publicly serve Canadians, is highly responsible for this. I hope one day he will be honored for doing so much for Canada.
